About the event
A stand-up show about Bulldogs, dads, and bad knees. Funny. Annoyingly, also a bit moving. Sorry.
Greg Kimball was never going to play AFL. He knew that. His body knew that. His knees vocalised it daily.
But somewhere between middle age and a dumb idea, he decided to try anyway. One more year of footy. Just to see.
One More Year is a stand-up comedy show about connection. About a father and a son who found their language in football, and what happens when you have to keep speaking it alone. It’s about the west, the Bulldogs, and the way footy holds people together long after it probably should. It’s about ageing, injury, and the stubborn refusal to let something go before you're ready.
It's set in the west. It belongs in the west. And it's coming to Footscray as part of Melbourne Fringe 2026. There's also a cameo from someone who knows a thing or two about the Bulldogs. That's all we're saying.
When Greg first performed this show, audiences laughed, cried, and complained about doing both in the same evening. After a break from stand-up he's back with a second act, new injuries, and fresh grief. You've been warned.
It's a comedy show. It's genuinely funny. It also might make you feel some things too. It happens.
One More Year is proudly partnering with the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation, with a portion of proceeds supporting their work across Melbourne's west.
